OLE Error when invoking Generic OPC-UA Browsing Dialog

I have seen some weird problems where the components could not be instantiated because .NET could not locate the dependent assemblies. I could not determine why it did not work on just one computer.

To figure out whether this is not the case, please make following experiment:

1) Place your application (its .EXE) to the same directory where the QuickOPC assemblies (but not the other way round: the assemblies need to stay at their original place)
2) use CMD to change the current directory to the directory where the assemblies and your application's EXE now is, and run the application from there.

Thank you

We both tried the Full installer and the production installer.

No file-by-file deployment, no custom installer.

Hello,

currently I cannot tell what is causing the issue. The error corresponds to COR_E_TYPEINITIALIZATION, and apparently means an unability to fully instantiate the dialog object. In this sense, it is clear that it is not related to licensing, and also not related to the UA discovery service status.

How did the software get to the system? E.g. using the full installer, using the "production installer" package, or have you deployed it file-by-file manually, or using a setup program that you wrote?

Thank you

Hello,

On one of our developers VM dev environnement, we encounter a OLE error message when invoking the Generic OPC-UA browsing dialog. Here is the message :

Here is what we tried :

- rebooting the VM
- rebooting the VM and the host
- re-installing the license in developer mode
- re-installing the license in production mode
- trying with the OPC UA discovery service started
- trying with the OPC UA discovery service stopped

Still the exact same issue every time

As a side note, you should know :
- QuickOPC's generic DA browsing dialog works fine on that same workstation
- an other OPC UA client software (free, found online) works fine on that same workstation
- we only have this issue on one of our workstation not on the others to this date. This same workstation used to work fine 2 days ago.

Hopes this give you enough info .

Thanks
