License Types
There are following types of QuickOPC, Excel Connector, OPC Wizard, Rapid Toolkit for Sparkplug and PicoOPC licenses available (not necessarily all of them apply to the particular product):
- Single Developer + Runtime Free License. One person can develop software with the product, but you can deploy to any number of computers, free of any further royalty payments. This is the most popular choice, largely used by System Integrators (SI), but now also allowing the use by ISV/OEMs. If more developers need to work with the software, you can also purchase "Additional Developers License", or choose a "Site License", or "Company-Wide Global License".
- Additional Developers License. This license is only available in addition to "Single Developer + Runtime Free License", and allows an additional developer to work with the software concurrently. It is your responsibility to assure that number of developers using the software does not exceed the number of purchased licenses.
- Site License. Any number of persons on a single site can develop software with the product, and you can deploy to any number of computers on any site, free of any further royalty payments.
- Company-Wide Global License. Any number of persons in a single company (legal subject) can develop software with the product, on any site, and you can deploy to any number of computers anywhere, free of any further royalty payments.
For Connectivity Software, you will receive a single license file for each product purchased, and install it onto the computer(s) using a License Manager utility. There are also alternative, documented methods of deploying the license e.g. on the runtime machines automatically, using your own installation program, or embedded in your application. The license types are the same for all Product Editions (QuickOPC).
For PicoOPC, the license key is a GUID that you specify in your code according to the procedure described in the documentation.

Product Editions
OPC Wizard, Excel Connector and Rapid Toolkit for Sparkplug have just one product edition. QuickOPC has more; see QuickOPC Product Editions for more information. The editions differ by features available.
License Types
License Types determine where and how you can use the Connectivity Software.
How Does the Licensing Work?
The commercial installation package is the same you might have used for trial purposes, and is publicly available on our Web. When you make a purchase, we will send you a license key file by e-mail. You then run the License Manager utility on your computer, install the license key by pointing to the license key file received, and you are done. The license key can also be embedded into the applications you develop.
We normally send the license key file immediately after your purchase, or during a few hours. When the purchase is made over the web shop, the license key file is usually delivered within minutes. In rare cases, however, it can take up to one business day.

Purchase Options
PayPal
Payment types: PayPal account, major credit cards, and other PayPal options.
PayPal registration is NOT required for payment! If you do not have PayPal account, PayPal can process your credit card payment as "guest".
Delivery and invoicing terms: Manual, by email. Usually same or next business day.
We will also issue a commercial invoice and send it by email.
FastSpring - recommended (worldwide)
The process is handled by the FastSpring platform that acts as a reseller. Payment types: Major credit cards, wire transfer, check, and other options (including PayPal).
Delivery and invocing terms: Automated, by email. Usually immediate. Handles correctly all VAT and other tax regulations. Note that price with VAT may be displayed during the process, but the VAT is later dropped if you enter the appropriate information. Customers located outside European Union are not charged the VAT.
Currencies: FastSpring will choose a currency based on your country. If you want to pay in different currency, tell us about it, and we will send you a link to "custom order" page in the desired currency.
Edition and version upgrades: Contact us in order to obtain a discount coupon, then proceed as for a new license, and enter the coupon code into the corresponding field.

Please select a document type:. Then, make a selection in the price list below, and press the "Create Document" next to your choice. You will be taken to a form with additional information to fill, and we will then automatically create and send the requested document to you.
Version upgrades: You must own an older version in order to be eligible for version upgrade.
The Proforma Invoice and Invoice contain bank transfer information and can be used for payment. The Quotation and Proforma Invoice options do not constitute a binding purchase order until paid in full. If you select Proforma Invoice and make a payment, we will send you the license, and a final commercial invoice, upon receival of the funds. The Invoice option constitutes a binding purchase order.

The upgrade assurance option included with some products gives you the right to use all versions released during the period you choose (1/2/3/4/5 years). Note that a "version" denotes new features; you do not need the upgrade assurance in order to get access to new builds (updates) with bug fixes to existing versions, if/when they are made available.
