The code is the same no matter which endpoint you use.
And it contains a call to BrowseVariables, which I suppose is what you mean by "fetch tags". So how can you tell "I am not pulling tags"?

Does the code return the results you want, and is just slow?
Or, does it return data that you do not expect? If so, which statement it is that returns the unexpected data, what does it return, and what is what you have expected?
