DCOM to transfer CSV files?

Replied by support on topic DCOM to transfer CSV files?
Most likely your question is misplaced, as this forum is not for COM/DCOM as such, but rather for a QuickOPC product, which uses a DCOM-based OPC protocol.

Anyway, COM/DCOM is not a file transfer protocol. It is, roughly said, an object remoting protocol. As a developer, you could write COM objects that would do the file transfer; but the protocol itself has nothing in it "built-in" for that purpose.

Is it possible to use DCOM protocol to transfer CSV files from a server on one network to another, similar to how FTP could transfer CSV?
