Unfortunately I do not see the attachment. Please try again. Allowed file extensions currently are:
bmp,txt,rtf,pdf,zip,tar.gz,tgz,tar.bz2,mp4,rar,png,tra.

DCOM will start a second or third... instance whenever it needs to run it under a different account. If it makes no sense for the server to be started multiple times, the DCOM must be configured such that the server is always started under the same account. The only safe way to do it is to set the Identity to a specific user, like on the picture below.

From the attached screenshot, I gather that it is running as an application.

(Note that there is an OPC client application on the server itself running the entire time with successful subscriptions to the same OPC server, so the problem is not that the OPC Server is not running and gets started by the remote desktop login).

In DCOMCNFG, isn't the OPC Server set to run under Interactive User?

Hello,

We have an OPC client application that reads data (via subscription) from an OPC server located on a different machine. When the OPC client application starts and subscriptions are requested for all tags, each EasyDAItemChangedEventArgs object contains an exception with the message:

"The server process could not be started because the configured identity is incorrect. Check the username and password."

(inner exception is null)

If I remote desktop into the computer running the OPC Server process, the OPC client application starts getting data for all tags within about 10-15 seconds (and continues to even after the remote desktop session is closed).

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Shea
