QuickOPC-COM application [client/server scenario]

QuickOPC allows you to add OPC client functionality to your application.
From what you have described, it appears that you want enhance your app by OPC server functionality, so QuickOPC won't help in this case.

As somewhat awkward solution, It would be possible to use QuickOPC to make your app an OPC client, and then let it connect to some 3-rd party OPC server that simply stores the values written into it and allows them be read back. This way, two OPC clients (the SCADA package and your app) can "connect", using an OPC server in the middle.

Subject: QuickOPC-COM application

Good Morning,

We are interested in your QuickOPC-COM for the following application:

Our own software developed in VB6 is used to colect and store data from [...] machines in the [...] industry.

Now we are required for a particular application to add to our software some OPC server capabilities to pass the collected information to a plant Scada which is OPC client. This Scada is running in a diferent PC.

About ten Vb6 Public variables of our software must be read by the OPC client.

From your Quick OPC description we understand that this can be donne with your software and some code added to our VB program. Please confirm us if we are right.

Thank you very much for your advise.

Kindest regards
